Senior Research Associate

Margaret Stern (Peggy) is a forest biologist with 30+ years of experience studying and working in tropical ecosystems, especially Andean-Amazonian. She received her Ph.D. from thein University of California, Davis and has conducted field studies, assessments and advice consultancies in Mexico, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Peru, Colombia and Ecuador. She is a consultant on issues related to forest resource management and conservation of biodiversity and is a specialist in the ecology of American bamboos.
